Your responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Junior Risk Analyst / Data Analyst to join our Risk Management team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data, Excel, and automation, and will support the analysis, monitoring, and reporting of risks for our Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). The role combines regulatory risk management responsibilities with a strong focus on data analytics and automation.

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, clean, and analyze risk-related data for AIFs under management, using Excel, databases, and risk tools;
  • Reporting Automation: Assist in the preparation and automation of risk reports for the Board, Senior Management, and regulators (e.g. AIFM reports, investment restriction checklists, CSSF Annex IV, AIFMD reporting) using Excel, Power BI, VBA and other reporting solutions;
  • Risk Monitoring: Maintain and update risk databases and dashboards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of risk metrics, limits, and breaches;
  • Support the monitoring and analysis of market, liquidity, credit, counterparty, operational and investment risks across AIFs under management;
  • Tool Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of risk assessment tools and the database (using Excel, Power BI, or VBA);
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Portfolio Management, Valuation, Compliance, and IT teams to ensure consistent and accurate risk data;
  • Due Diligence: Support due diligence processes by analyzing data for new investments;
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data processes and enhance risk reporting through automation (e.g., VBA scripts, Power Query);
  • Documentation: Assist in the administration, review, and update of Risk Policies and Procedures in line with AIFMD and CSSF requirements;
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Support ad hoc data requests, regulatory queries, or project-based assignments.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field;
  • 1–2 years’ work experience (internships, working student) in a similar position, preferably within: 
    • The fund industry (AIFM, ManCo, or Alternative Investment Funds);
    • Data analysis, risk management, or audit for financial services;
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, data validation and reporting automation;
  • Database Skills & Interest: Experience or strong interest in working with databases (SQL, Access, or proprietary risk databases) and data visualization tools (Power BI);
  • VBA Skills & Interest: Self-learner with a keen interest in VBA automation (macros, scripts) to improve efficiency. Prior VBA experience is a strong plus, but not required if you are eager to learn;
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly;
  • Self-Learner: Highly motivated to independently develop technical skills (e.g., VBA, Power BI, SQL) and stay updated on data analysis best practices;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in data manipulation and risk calculations;
  • Team player with an open-minded and proactive approach;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English (German or French is a plus);
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) – mandatory;
    • Working knowledge of VBA or willingness to learn;
    • Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, or SQL is considered an asset;
    • Knowledge of Luxembourgish/EU regulations (AIFMD, CSSF circulars) is a plus.
